The Advent Calendar
Many of you are familiar I'm sure with what is known as The Advent Calendar. -This is a fun activity (as well as a wall decoration!) during Advent which many families do or make. Each day a child opens a door, revealing (depending on the calendar) a different picture, ornament, sweet or something.
The calendar as a whole usually is a picture iself... And as more and more doors are opened, the picture is harder to see and Christmas gets closer and closer. The Metropolitan Museum of Art has a wonderful and very impressive Advent calendar, but they also can be quite humble little ones. They are fun to make, too!
