Feast of St. Francis of AssisiToday is the feast of one our Faith's most popular saints: Francis of Assisi. I linked to the Catholic Culture website because it includes a list of things to do to help celebrate his feast. For what it's worth, I think the movie "Brother Sun, Sister Moon" is one of the best on this saint. He is a great man to use to illustrate several moral principals to our children. And now, his famous prayer:
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; To be understood as to understand; To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive; It is in pardoning that we are pardoned; And it is in dying (to the self) that we are born to eternal life.
